easyDICTATE turns your audio files into ASR generated transcripts or if you wish transcripts edited by humans. You can use it to record your medical records, patient encounters, legal summaries, meetings and interviews, capture your thoughts and ideas, and transcribe your existing recordings and podcasts. The possibilities are endless.

Is my data safe?
Yes, we are committed to keeping your data private and secure. We do not sell or share your data with anybody (except as necessary to respond to lawful requests, etc). We sync your data over an encrypted connection, and store it in our secure data center that has both physical and electronic security. How can I delete my easyDICTATE account?

How do I get started?
Create an account at easyDICTATE.net and download our app or upload your audio file.

Do unused minutes lapse?
Unused minutes are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase after which they lapse.

How long does transcription normally take?
While recording on a stable internet connection, you should normally get your ASR transcripts back within a few minutes depending on the length of the audio file and how busy the easyDICTATE service is. For transcripts edited by humans the turnaround time is normally 24 hours.

My transcript is still processing. What do I do?
If the transcription has been processing for an unexpectedly long time, please contact support so we can look into the problem and possibly reprocess the transcription. Be sure to include the date/time, title, and duration of each affected conversation.

What languages are supported?
We currently only support English.

Any commands for punctuations / line breaks?
easyDICTATE is designed for capturing meetings, interviews, and other verbal conversations. It automatically inserts punctuation and line breaks. Verbal commands for punctuation and line breaks are also supported.

Which web browsers are supported?
The easyDICTATE.net website currently works best using Google Chrome (desktop layout), but many users are able to take advantage of easyDICTATE on other browsers such as Safari and Firefox. You can use the same easyDICTATE account across all devices.

How do I allow easyDICTATE to access microphone?
For easyDICTATE.net web version, please go to your web browser's settings and add https://www.easyDICTATE.net in the Allow list, not the Block list, for the Microphone permission.

Is there any way to improve easyDICTATE’s accuracy?
For in-person conversations, please place your recording device close to all speaking parties so that their voices are picked up clearly. You should also try to minimize any background noise or music. Any overlapping speech where people talk over one another should also be avoided if possible.
